Nha Trang is the capital of Khanh Hoa province on the South-Central Coast of Vietnam. It is well known for its pristine beaches, excellent scuba diving and sailing conditions and is fast becoming a popular destination for international visitors. It is seasonally popular amongst backpackers, Turkish & Russian travelers as well as more affluent markets from Southeast Asia. It is also popular with Vietnamese domestic tourists. Nha Trang Bay is widely considered as one of the world's most beautiful bays.
This city was established in 1924. Its climate tends to be more temperate than other destinations in South Central Coast. Average temperature reaches 26°C. This makes Nha Trang an outstanding destination for people who love hot, tropical sunlight and beach life. The setting is stunning, with towering mountains looming up behind the city and the sweeping beaches stretching into the distance. The turquoise waters are unpolluted and dotted with numerous offshore islands.
There are several famous resorts such as Vinpearl, Diamond Bay and Ana Mandara. On the beachfront are amusement and water parks, both in the city and on the islands. A cable-car system, reportedly the longest in the world, links the mainland to the five-star resort and theme park on Hon Tre.
Nha Trang provides a rich variety of tourist activities. Water-sports are popular, and sailing is fast becoming a favorite past-time. Experience an old-school spa treatment with a visit to a mud bath or explore centuries-old Cham towers - still standing in the center of town. Throw Vietnamese culture ‘to the wind’ and experience Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang’s attempt at Disneyworld.
The local cuisine is most famous for fresh sea foods and barbecued pork rolled in rice paper. The famous ‘Bird's nest soup’ is deemed one of the best in Vietnam. Bird’s nests are collected in the wild, on bird farms on the islands and even from some houses in the inner city.
On the coast, there is a ‘foreign residential quarter’ located on Hung Vuong, Tran Phu, Biet Thu, Tran Quang Khai streets.... Each restaurant, pub has been named according to owner’s nationality – another example of Vietnam’s modern multi-cultural appeal.
