Sapa is a mountainous region located 350km northwest of Hanoi. It's famous for its stunning mountains and interaction charming culture. Among it's many attractions are Fansipan, the highest mountain peak in Vietnam and it's numerous rice terraces carved into the slopes of the mountains.
Nowhere in Vietnam can tourists so easily meet and interact with local ethnic minorities like in Sapa. The district is the home of a great diversity of ethnic people, including five main groups of Hmong, Yao, Tay, Zay and Xa Pho. They do not live in center area but in hamlets scattering on the valleys throughout Sapa District. The center of Sapa is where the local merchants gather to trade and sell. Their products range from rice, corn, fruits, as well as handicrafts and souvenirs.
